in this movie,
i breathe a deep sigh,
just paid outstanding debts,
the creditors
were getting forceful.

the evening draws down,
the curtain closing on this wonderful day,

i drop a pill. i’ve missed one or two,
due to the fact that one was feeling good.

blood no longer anemic,
energetic, motivated again,
writing & reading as i listen

soon i’ll be taking a warm bath.
light a candle –

& meditate me floating
in the Mississippi River Delta,
fully naked,
looking up towards the sunlight.
