Championing the Impossible: A Reflection on Momma

By No Comments1 min read
Black mother reading, son writing, yellow bench, white background, Hockney style.

momma

making
the impossible look easy,
squeezing out
a 15-pound baby,

would he grow to excess,
a football player maybe? …

prowess bound to riches,
rake in money
for the family.

but
he he grew to 5ft 3,
with a hint
of chubbiness.

during their nightly chatter
he laughed out loud and said –

even at 41, momma,
i love you, honey…

you always make the impossible look easy.
