crowds gather during lockdown protest

Buffoon

A short poem exploring protest, freedom, ideology and the contradictions that emerge when personal beliefs collide with collective responsibility.

Anti-lockdown march,
Fear currency, freedom’s cry,
Echoes through the streets.

Voice rise, protest,
Anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers,
Seek truth, challenge norms.

Scuffles with the law,
Tensions high, arrests are made,
Love’s laughter fades.

Old fellow’s call,
“I won’t be home tonight, love!”
Buffoon, she exclaims.
