Khashoggi, Politics And The Weather Forecast

By No Comments1 min read
man sat at desk writing

random

the poet said when he writes
he might throw something in –
a phrase or a sentence
he heard on the radio.

joining me now is a friend
of Jamal Khashoggi.
was he fearful? apprehensive?
well, actually no.

his marriage imminent
he phoned me on leaving
the consulate and was happy.
we feel he’s been killed,
tortured to death.

and the UK government’s silence?
this is the hypocrisy of politics.
thank you for your time –
tomorrow will be wet and cloudy
with risk of localized flooding.
