Shy: A Tender Moment of Vulnerability at Dawn

By No Comments1 min read
woman covering her face with her hands

Shy

She jerked
the door open after bathing.
The steam oozed out
a deep musky sigh.

She was peeping
through the pine door slats.
Across the narrow landing
wandered her eye.

What you looking at baby?
Take a look – look!
This little thing helped form you.
Her mouth open wide, peering in his eye:
She stood in shock as a pillar of stone.

Sniffle, snuffle, she started to cry.
Crystal drops rolled from her bashful brown eyes.
He led her to the room on the right.
Together they lay down in a secure embrace,
as dawn broke in through the curtains.
