Family Love and Apologies: The Beer and Promises to Mom

By No Comments1 min read
The image shows two Black characters in a sunlit kitchen, with a tin of beer in the refrigerator. It's in the vibrant, colorful style of David Hockney. Skendong Poetry

the beer

hey mom!
i promised to turn the lights on for you as you asked.
hope you had a good day.

so sorry
about that tin of beer in the fridge i replaced last week.
it was ice cold mom.

but you know
when i get paid wednesday, i’ll replace it. i might buy
you an extra one.

you always understand.
