solitary sat
in a dimly lit room.
heard bawling & wailing
as barrel bombs dropped
from the rabid sky.
the fathers scampered.
the mothers clasped
their frantic hands
as soldiers approached –
toxic tears streaming.
i watch the vision,
traumatized faces.
catch the kid squealing
as they pulled him
from the rubble.
the dispossessed
fleeing the horror.
the rage & shells
of battles terror
moving in
on the refugees…
