The Unpublished Poet’s Growth to Publication

By No Comments1 min read
A colorful, stylized painting of a seminar room with an agent floating above a group of people, including one black man, who are all intensely sharpening pencils.

unpublished

there was a young poet I knew,
James Davies.

only he & I graduated
from a course designed to

improve one’s expression –
lessons in reading + writing.

he has published 5 volumes since;
as yet, I am still unpublished,

though I’ll never forget
at this seminar

the agent exclaimed
don’t fret you unpublished poets,

hone your craft for that day
when you’re ready. get it?
