Shitler
A surreal and humorous poem exploring language, misunderstanding and the strange collisions between digital updates, family conversations and modern life.
I wasn’t going to write a poem today
but then I pressed an update. It said
“Bye Bye Shitler – New beginnings,”
My sister texting into the distance.
I rang to ask if this execration
Was directed towards her baby father.
Something must have been executed?
I gave her a call. The cell rang out.
As I listen to Freddie Gibbs
& The Alchemist:
“Yeah, this the way God planned it,
bitch understand it” –
She called me back & told me
In an unperturbable manner:
Oh. It is the name of her son’s car.
He sold it.
