strange

A short poem about forgotten hopes, paths not taken and the unexpected possibilities that emerge with a new day.

the whole range
from extreme
to calm
in the palm
of my hand
the future
i looked

and projected
a way forward.
it’s late
candle flickers
i sit at my desk
soothsaying
and

see a familiar vein –
a road
that forked in two
a wishbone
but i forgot
wishes, hopes

destinations doused
by time –
& by morning
new horizons
layer upon layer
peek into view.
