Searing Reflection: America’s Struggles Unveiled

By One Comment1 min read
Statue of Liberty

Entitled

Such a beautiful place,
I love this country,
Goddamn it.

When my ancestors arrived,
They cleaned this place up,
There was nothing here
But buffalo shit.

Now, listen to me, buddy.
If you don’t like it,
You can always leave.

The bemused Mexican Indian
spat out his cigar
& shook his head
in anguish.
