ants foraging through crispy crevices.
that numbskull who flicked his cigarette walking.
now Joan is bawling for her neighbourhood burned.
sorry you lost your possessions.
you didn’t lose your life.
you’ll be glad to know:
from today, a billion trees are to be planted –
by 2023 – he said.
