Writing Love in Sand, Let the Sea Carry It Away

By No Comments1 min read
a young black male about to write a name in the golden sand by the sea

Love in Sand

We all miss you lots.
Even if we drew lots,
It could not divide the love
You distributed, dissipated –
Flowing equally
Between heaven and earth.

I just wanted to say,
On this day, your anniversary,
I wrote your name in the golden sand
At the Atlantic Ocean’s edge
In Kololi, and when
The foamy waves rolled in,
They gently took the strokes.

Amen.
