Homecoming, Identity and Belonging When all Seems Lost

Homecoming

Returning to the land –
They once kidnapped me.
My language has changed,
But not the colour of my skin.
On the sandy abode,
Tropical sun beams
And the children play
Without a care,
And women saunter past
With smiles and glints
Wondering
From where I have come.
