Princess Nut Nuts

A nursery-rhyme cadence meets a royal dispute over memory, truth and what gets remembered.

The Princess had a little tree,
It grew two branches bearing pears,
Now a diaphanous memory.
Her brother came to tell the tale,
For all the words he could recall,
All laid bare in a swan song book.
The King replied with vigorous words,
“Pain can colour memory.”
So who can say what truth is there,
Beneath the Nut Nuts tree?
